We've started using Pixlr Editor this past week. It is an app that is part of the Google Drive family and is free to use through the Drive. We spent most of the first class learning how to use all the tools and features of the app and played around with some images. Learning a new program can be both exciting and frustrating. I definitely brushed up on some of the FAQs videos to make sure I was using the app to the best of my abilities. It is amazing how quiet blocks can get when students are actively engaged and working with something new and challenging.
Students will be completing their Colour Splash assignment this week and will also be sending me the link to their Weebly sites so that I can see how everything is coming along. I want to make sure that students are on track and keeping up with their weekly assignments so that I can provide them with feedback to improve their sites. It is amazing that we're already heading into Thanksgiving weekend. I only have 11 more classes with my IT8s! We have another Pixlr assignments and I still want to show them how Garageband and iMovie works so time will certainly fly! Our rotation time together will be over before we know it.
